We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account

If you received an email with a single use code to login to your Microsoft account but you did not generate it, then someone is trying to login to your account. Recently, I received multiple emails with a single use code and that’s not a good sign.

single use code email from microsoft

What to do if you received a single use code email?

The single use code email has the following content:

Hi ********@outlook.com,

We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account.

Your single-use code is: ******

If you didn’t request this code, you can safely ignore this email. Someone else might have typed your email address by mistake.

Thanks,
The Microsoft account team

To avoid unauthorized access to your account, immediately change your Microsoft account password. Also, turn on additional security steps such as Two Step Verification. To make your account even more safer, use the Microsoft Authenticator app which delivers a code to your phone each time there is a login attempt.
